2007 Winner ~ Tyler Holien-Kettle
Tyler Holien-Kettle is a sophomore at Capital
High School where he remains dedicated to his commitment to excellence
in academic standards, community service and athletics. Tyler
participates in high school baseball and is a student opinion writer for
The Olympian.
2008 winner ~ Rianne Smelser
Rianne Smelser recently graduated from Griffin Middle School. Rianne is a dedicated student, athlete, and a loyal and compassionate friend. She loves gymnastics, horseback riding, animals, being outdoors, helping others, and hanging out with friends. Her future goals include attending college and becoming a large animal veterinarian. Rianne is attending Capital High School.
2009winner ~ McKenzie Phillips
The third annual Tiernan-Keigher $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Griffin 8th grader McKenzie Phillips. McKenzie is a dedicated straight A student, a tremendous athlete, voracious reader, who loves animals and her family. McKenzie’s dream is to attend medical school someday. “I would like to help save lives and use my skills to benefit others when hope is lost. I want to make a difference in others lives in some way.” McKenzie is a freshman at Capital High School. She plans to continue her pursuit of athletics and academics. Her scholarship funds will be held in trust until she is enrolled in a higher education program.
