Scholarships for 2010
The Griffin School Foundation, in cooperation with The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound, is proud to sponsor two scholarship programs: 1) The Cody Brown Memorial Scholarship and 2) The Tiernan-Keigher Scholarship.
The Cody Brown Memorial Scholarship was created in 2003 after Griffin Elementary student, Cody Brown lost his life in a tragic accident. Cody was a dependable student, an athlete, a musician, but mostly he was a great person of promise.
The Cody Brown Memorial Scholarship recognizes the achievements one former Griffin School student (attended a minimum of two years at Griffin School) who is a high school senior in a public or accredited private high school in Thurston County as of September of the application year. The 2010 scholarship award of $1,000 may be used for any type of post-high school education or training. The scholarship will be awarded at the Griffin School Promotion Ceremony in June.
Applications, including complete scholarship criteria, will be available at Thurston County area high schools beginning February 2010, or may be downloaded by clicking the link below. The application deadline is Friday, April 23, 2010 at 5:00p.m and must be delivered to Griffin School Foundation c/o The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. Sound.

The Tiernan-Keigher Scholarship was created in acknowledgement of two woman, Annie Tiernan and Margaret Keigher, who left Ireland in the first quarter of the last century to find a better life in America. Although neither had significant formal education they were woman of great faith, wisdom and patience. Neither married nor had children. Despite this they gave much love and understanding to countless children in their care who will always remember them.
The Tiernan-Keigher Scholarship recognizes the achievements of one 8th grade Griffin School District student (in a public, home-schooled, or accredited private school as of September of the application year) with a $2500 award for any type of post-high school education or training.
Applications are available at Griffin School beginning February, 2010, or may be downloaded by from the link below. The application deadline is Friday, May 21, 2010 at 5:00 p.m delivered to Griffin School Foundation c/o The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound.
